Dawn & Dusk

Back home, my daddy broke his back from dawn to dusk

Nothin to do except work the fields and fall in love

Met my momma on a Sunday, on the Monday he thanked god above

But for me Maple trees could never be tall enough

Now I'm wandering streets, pass by the wagon highway

And the noise could break my ears and break up the driveways

And the bars are full of folks wishin the time fades

And housings going up, the rich is thriving on top of us

The sun rise and it sets on top of us

What happens in this town between dawn & dusk?

Tearin down homes and building up holes for money to go

Interstates through neighborhoods so the grass can't grow

Sun up don't feel the same through the smoke

Sundays are nothin like what I used to know
