Take On The Day

I'm bathed in blue light, world still in twilight

My thoughts man they're still shrouded in fog

A new day same old mission, I'm awake, but still wishing

For a morning I won't work like a dog

'Cause ain't that the dream?

But I left those in my sleep

Can't believe our day had ended this way

'Cause this job it seems no one can do it like me

I choose to proceed I've got bills to pay

I'll take on the day

Can't stop it coming, I choose to take the day on in my own way

Stuck in a loop, deciding what I would say

If I could take a step back

Enough not to regret

Every morning I've made in this life I created

For myself, my own personal hell I curated

When Tide stays the same

To keep afloat you must pay

Am I empowered or a fish in the pond?

Bursting at my seam, but aren't I living the dream?

Like a robot on the cusp of a thought

I'll take on the day

With matter over mind

A sleight of hand has a price

And they take half of the effort you made (And the dealer makes twice what you do)

Although it feels like a crime

I guess the workers are nice (I guess the people are fine)

I can't buy liquor any other way
