Cedar Stairwell

The dream isn't wild, it isn't new

Men who haven't met in a motel room

We're in some better off relative's lakeside home

It's own sunset and time zone

Our folks off on their own

We could mingle just below

The cedar stairwell if we so chose

Just beyond the threshold

But for now, it's low lamplight

And eyes glued

That mood I feared I'd always have to refuse

Blooms

Like it was meant to

Two American grooms

Toasting to travel and awe

To health and to youth

Below the cedar stairwell in the living room

Flaunt you on my lap like I'm joking

Our parents pause to see us through the glassware

They want us like this
