The Place In The Sky

I don't wanna believe this world will let me down

Clinging hard to the places I swear I've always known

But this branch is unsteady, and I want something more

So whenever you're ready, I'll ask for you at the door

Don't tell me no, I want to go to the place in the sky

I'll find my way, if not today, so no one ask me why

I'm going home to all I've known, I wish that I could stay

But when the spirit beckons you, what more is there to say?

All that light in your eyes will carry you far

All that space in your mind is free for you to wander

Shake the dust from my feet, I'm becoming something new

And when I am made whole, I'll take you with me too

Don't ask me why it's on my mind to soar into the clouds

When all my days are filled with countless javelins of doubt

I'm going home, don't call my phone, I'll get there in my way

And when the spirit welcomes me, I'll know it from your face

When the poets welcome me, I'll know this is the place
