Autumn Is Upon Me

I didn´t mean to hurt you

But I did so many times I can´t count

I tried to reach fulfillment

I tried to be a giving person

With tears I tried to bargin

To get a better deal no matter what

Success always beyond reach

Greatness always another inch away

Was that life that flashed by?

Many times I asked forgiveness

Many times a deafening silence roared

Death is a gift that keeps on giving

But it was life itself that drained me of my will

My will to keep on trying

My will to keep on trying for all that i love

Now autumn is upon me

And I greet it as a friend long time lost
