Slow Down

Out between the rolling valley

Where time does quickly fly

There lived a humble farmer

That dreamed towards the sky

From dawn until the dusk light

He worked the land each day

A pace so quick and heavy

No chance to dream away

His hands moved fast and nimble

Like A hummingbird's beating wings

But in his haste, he couldn't wait.

He missed those special things

Slow down, and count those years running

Slow down come now hold up

Let time be that reason enough

The summer sun would rise and set

In the blinking of an eye

As he raced to beat the darkening clouds

That quickly passed him by

He ploughed and sowed the turning fields

With a Frantic fevered pace

Never ceasing or not pausing

To marvel at natures grace

Each spring the crops would grow so fast

But something was amiss

For his busy life was empty

With no one to share it with

He longed for someone special

He knew that time would bring

But life would never calm things down

To hear those new birds sing

Now one day in those pastures green

In a fresh corner of the field

His weary eyes caught something

That the morning sun would yield

One tiny bud was growing

So delicate and small

A rose that blossomed in his eyes

Through the chaos of it all
