I kept traveling west

Til I hit the coast

Where the view is the same

Like centuries ago

I need to be careful now

To not speak too soon

But once across the ocean

I'll be over the moon

I could choose to linger on this endless shore

Then head down to where I have been before

But your path is mine

And your thousand miles

I'd walk 'm too

Give or take a few

A man's aspirations

Can sometimes fall flat

But aspiring stagnation

Is almost as bad

Determined to make it through

I look at the moon

And how it controls the tides

But also my mood

I could choose to linger on this endless shore

Then head down to where I have been before

It still looks like I could win

But I better start to swim

As the waters close me in
