Hopeless

I feel like it's so hopeless

And it's breaking my heart

From the things that I see

Too tired to stand up, resist

The food costs have tripled

We cannot afford to exist

And nature is crying

The bees they keep dying

The profits they dictate it all

And the family farms

Bought by corporate firms

And the millionaires harvest a haul

And the oceans keep rising

The fishes are dying

And nobody seems to care

And the fires keep spreading

And it's all so upsetting

Catastrophes everywhere

I feel like it's so hopeless

What should I be singing?

As people get shot in their homes

By those sent to serve us

Protect and preserve us

Brandishing badges and guns

And the people keep fighting

The armies keep killing

Young children and innocent moms

And a genocide happening

Our leaders condoning

Our taxes – they pay for the bombs

And when the missiles, they fly

And we'll say our "goodbyes"

And destruction will rain from the sky

The whole world's gone to hell

Since you said your farewell

I'll be thinking of you as I die
