God Forsaken

Every god forsaken morning I snooze my alarm

And resist the urge to call myself lazy for it

And every waking moment I feel hunger

And I summon every ounce of will I have to ignore it

My back against the floodgates

Trudging through the mud of my mind

Sipping on day old coffee

Wondering what else I've left behind

If only other people heard what I say to myself

So I'm saying it out loud and hoping that it helps

Every god damn afternoon

I suffer through the urge to glue

My eyelashes together out of boredom

And every breath I breathe I wheeze

And wonder if i'm dying

Or if i'm just being dramatic and ignore them

The existential crises
