Of Amber

Amber kept the peace of her heart encased in resin

She'd been right the night for jewels of sparkling pleaties

And there she'd keep her love

Safe among the world of dreams

Free from the earth and all of its pain

She traded everything that's real

To hold and feel the arms of Orion

Reaching for eternity towards the dazzling deep

But when she reached the stars

She found them empty, cold and quiet

Looking back over her shoulder

She saw the true source of the light
