Hawks

I was walking through the woods

Down an old timber road

Looking up at the sky

So blue so cold

I saw a hawk on the current

And I saw two more

I've never seen three together and it touched my soul

It was quite

It was peaceful

I recognized my self

Looked at my hands the energy I felt

When over the hill I heard it coming

A Motorbike

Loud engine humming busted up my time

With my hawks

Well I lost my cool and cursed him

That's what I did

He asked what I was doing with a great big grin

And I saw that he was happy

And what an asshole I had been

Oh in the here and now

My heart is a rose

My mind is empty

And my heart knows

It's like my best friend told me

Who always sees crows

You can't love a hawk and hate another soul
