Two lovers lost in paradise with Divine oversight

Two lovers lost that paradise with a single bite

The tree stood as the single test to their loyalty

But her indulgence of the flesh secured the penalty

Before she bit the apple the devil bit her soul

To kill, to steal, and conquer is the devil's goal

He wraps a pretty package but death is inside

So paradise was lost because Eve bought the lie

For the briefest moment Adam had yet to fall

Would he choose the woman or the Giver of the Law?

Without a word he made his choice and consequence it hit

He bit the bullet that sentenced man 'cause he was devil-bit

Before he bit the apple the devil bit his soul

To kill, to steal, and conquer is the devil's goal

He wraps a pretty package but death is inside

So paradise was lost 'cause Adam chose the lie

Before we bit the apple the devil bit our soul

To kill, to steal, and conquer is still the devil's goal

He wraps a pretty package but death is inside

So paradise is lost because we chose the lie
