1.Years ago it started quite peacefully

Stars aligned and we fell in love beautifully

Our lives played out as a perfect scene

The future promised a life as it should have been

2.Time rolled by like the clouds in the azure sky

Drifting slowly as we looked on like passers by

Side by side we did what we had to do

We said the right things - to make it feel like new

3.You held my hand, I held my breath

I felt the pull of life and death

I read the words you wrote to me

I tore them up and threw them into the fire

4.Looking back now it reads like a fairy tale

I understand that good things are all doomed to fail

That night you said - you said you’re gonna leave me

Our love was strong (so strong) but you didn’t believe me (believe me, you leave me, you leave me)

Think of the future
