I’ve been writing songs about you while you’re up there on my wall

And I know I’m nothing like you, you always stood so tall

And I can’t stand straight for a second

Mom’s always had a good eye she really captured your essence

Her picture brings you to life and I can feel your presence

I wish that I could go back to the life that we had when you were around

I wanna dream like I did when I was a kid but I feel so different now

Part of my childhood dies every time I lose someone I care about

Time keeps slipping by and I’m terrified

But I have to learn to live without you

And I don’t want to live in the past

But it all went by so fast

I always thought that I would find a way to help you get better

And it had worked before so I was sure, but I should’ve known

I couldn’t keep you here forever

And since the moment you left it’s been a snowball effect

A tragic turn of events we had to learn to accept

I wish that I could go back to the life that we had when you were around
