Rattlesnakes in the nursery

Crimson roses hang upside down

A checkerboard’s laid out like runway

I gotta play both sides,

Every night and day

Cuz I have been

My own abuser

I need an intervention

But before we accuse her

She was just

Disappointed

In my lack of wanderlust

Cuz nothing gets me excited

I wish that I could see myself

The way that I’m portrayed

By everybody else

Maybe their right

Maybe I’m betraying

Myself

My depth I fear

Is feeling like a grave

Or a cage created by my own design

But the more I’m loved

The less I like it here

Avoiding all the rain

Will make the sun disappear

Cuz I have been
