A lamb that went astray, I wandered all alone

Not knowing that the shepherd's hands would lead me back home

Within His tender touch, I finally understand that

I would still be wondering if not for Jesus' hand

The hand that formed the universe put the stars in place

The hands that love to gently wipe each teardrop from my face

The hands that hung upon that rugged cross to take my place

Are the same hands that led this lamb into the Father's grace

He led this little lamb through valleys and mountains tall

Together we walked hand-in-hand

He was with me through it all

And as we walk the path that leads me back home

Now a lamb within His fold, my heart no longer roams
