So, after everything that happened
I wasn't angry
I wasn't looking for revenge
But I'd be lying if I said it didn't affect me
The damage to the studio and the merchandise was one thing
The bigger issue was uncertainty
I hadn't been there when everything happened
I didn't see it
I only saw the aftermath
And when somebody acts out of anger and disappears afterward
You don't always know what comes next
For the first time in a long time
I found myself thinking about my safety
Thinking about responsibility
Thinking about protecting myself and the people around me
Nevada law allows you to lawfully carry a pistol for protection
So I did
Not because I wanted trouble
Not because I wanted confrontation
Quite the opposite
I'd hope I'd never have to use it, ever
The goal wasn't violence
The goal was peace of mind
Still, I hated it
I hated the feeling of having to think about those things
I hated the extra weight on my hip
I hated the reminder of what had happened
Even my people around me weren't fans of it
They knew me
They knew my heart was in business, music
And in building opportunities, not conflict
But for a while, it helped me feel more secure
And sometimes, that's all a person was looking for
Was some security
But the more I thought about it
The more I realized the firearm wasn't the solution
The solution was to change the environment
That building had served its purpose
Simply the Best had grown
Business had launched there
Dreams had been built there
But after everything that happened
I knew it was time for the next chapter
So I started looking again
Only this time, it felt a little different
The first building took months to find
This one seemed to appear overnight
Almost like it had been waiting for us
Fresh, clean, professional
The same number of rooms
Better energy
And somehow, even cheaper
I couldn't believe it
Sometimes when one door closes
Another one really does open
And this door swung wide open
The decision was easy
I called the team
The barber, the studio cats
The entrepreneurs who had built alongside of me
And we got to work
Packing equipment
Packing merchandise
Moving furniture
Loading trucks
Making plans
Piece by piece, we transferred everything
Not because we were running away
Because we was leveling up
That's the difference
Running away is driven by fear
Moving forward is driven by passion
And our, our vision had outgrown that old building
We finally got everything moved into the new location
And that feeling was different
Cleaner, lighter, safer
Like a reset button had been pressed
The business was still intact
The relationships were still intact
The mission was still intact
The only thing left behind was the negativity
Looking around the new space, I smiled
Not because everything was perfect
But because once again
Life had tried to interrupt the dream
And once again, the dream survived
The studio survived
The brand survived
The team survived
And most importantly, the vision survived
And that's when I realized something
Every major blessing in my life
Started with what looked like a setback
Losing a studio led to a better studio
Losing a location led to a better location
Losing certain people made room for the right people
And every time I bet on myself
Somehow, the odds kept working out
So we unpacked
Turned on the lights
Opened the doors
And got back to business
Because Simply the Best wasn't building
It wasn't a logo
It wasn't a t-shirt
It was a mindset
And that mindset was moving into a brand new home
