Little Hands

As I go to sleep tonight I look to you

Dear God, I pray

'Cause Christmas is tomorrow

But, what have we done today?

They say that I'm too young to understand

But I'll get my chance someday

So, I pray to you this Christmas

"Someday" will be today

If I could reach the world

I'd show 'em all the love I'd give

Comin' straight from the heart of a child on this Christmas

If I could reach the world

I'd help them see it through

That's all I'm askin' for this Christmas

Is to show them all what these little hands can do

God, it's me, I'm here again

You know what's on my mind

The world is not much different

Now another year's gone by

They tell me, "Little girl, a grown up world ain't a place for you today"

So, I pray to you this Christmas

There's got to be a way

That I could reach the world

And show 'em all the love I'd give

If I made a change, would it be enough?

Would I follow through, or would I just give up?

My life has changed in this grown up world

And it seems I've grown up too

I've got a daughter now

It's funny how, she looks more like me each day

I heard her pray to you this Christmas

With the words I used to say

"If I could reach the world

When I told her I did too

She said, "Mommy, what'd you ever do?"

I kissed her once and said

"My darling, these little hands made you"

And now I'm showing them all what these little hands can do
