When I wrote the ad for astronaut

I didn’t expect a man of zero thought

So why did you respond?

Why did you think you were up to the job?

I don’t want to climb inside my head

I try each day to leave my thoughts

Yet you insist on dragging me back down to earth

To the surface of this hell

Can’t you let me fly far and wide

Up to the stars where I can reach the sky

I can reach the infinite bliss I crave each day

And then you drag me back again

Why can’t you let me be and let me breathe?
