I've been staring at the floor so long

I've forgotten how to swallow

How to breathe

I know the awkwardness will wear off

But for now my nerves are raw

Three new faces means allowing some time to adjust

A new situation means letting go and learning how to trust

We're improving more each time we meet

But camaraderie doesn't come easy for me

I've stepped into a circle that has already formed

Filling in shoes that are already worn

I'm not expecting the spotlight to shine as brightly as it did before

But I can't help but wonder if you're expecting more

Slowly my confidence is gaining, gaining

And my weariness is waning
