I cracked my lids this morning unsure of where I am

Swore I went to bed in Charlotte but I woke up in Cheyenne

Shut the tv off 'round 4 but could not shut off my brain

And for the life of me I can't recall what time I'm due in Spokane

I could use a cup of coffee but I never touch the stuff

Just splash cold water on my face and hope that it's enough

I'd drive all night 600 miles just to sleep in my own bed

But the road back home's three times that long

So I'm stranded here instead

Where the churches and the traffic lights all look about the same

See the glow of a 7-11 sign from the edge of a dim lit stage

Feels like I'm living in a line from Turn The Page

The congregation to my right prays for another beer

Silently wondering what the hell we're doing here

There's a girl across the room singing every word with me

I wonder if she wonders what kind of lover I might be

I wouldn't know what to say to her if it wasn't in a song

So I just nod and offer half a smile before it's time to move along
