Money’s running low

Desperation flows

Hunger starts to show

And the rent is due

Wallet’s running light

Notes and coins lose life

When lucky stars realign

I’ll know the worst is through

And the script is learned

Then it flips and turns

And changes again

The rest is less than I care to keep

Blinking takes its toll

Terraform my soul

So that it can feel

If the ceiling spoke

With a fact or joke

To see if it was real

Each breath is earned
