I Can't Slow Her Down

She moves like lightning Is as contagious as the sun Her moods are frightening And I'm pretty sure that soon we'll be done I try to pin her down but she's always on the run I wanna catch her but I can't slow her down She slips through my fingers Like a symptom of the wind And though I keep on knocking she never lets me in But I don't mind so much As long as I can hear her sing I wanna catch her but I can't slow her down No I cannot tempt her No I cannot slow her down at all I try to abide by her But she never remains the same She stays as still as the winters eye Beneath the temper of a flame And I've paid her or at least I've tried To find affections in the pains I wanna catch her but I can't slow her down
