The Wind

This is my pathetic way

This is my attempt to explain

It's all the same in that it all gets in the way

I sit around telling tall tales all day

Further along, further along

When will this happen?

When will this all be gone?

I watched it from afar

It was a shining star

Tried to get up close

It was just a ghost

I try to catch up

But it always gets away

I set my heart to self-destruct

I number my own days

I laugh 'cause it's all just a joke

We tried so hard to play on ourselves

Verily I am nothing

I can feel when the wind blows

That I am just passing by

I want to make peace

When I look to the sky
