It was a dive bar Friday night on Colfax

Met up with a friend I hadn't seen in years

Bands were playing but I didn't stay for the last act

Cos he met a girl and I turned into the third wheel

Lit a cigarette and wondered through the streets of Denver

Snow up in the front range but down here the sky was clear

Thinking back on the way things were

And wondering why I always seem to end up here

Should've noticed that look in her eyes

Ended up in some establishment in LoDo

Just in time for the bar to announce the last call

PBR Tall Boy and it was time to go

I said "yall take it easy" with a slight southern drawl

With the best of intentions, but the results always seem to lack

It's 5280 and my head ain't straight
