Like Something I Missed

I wished upon a field of falling stars,

You said, “They’re only rocks.”

But I knew they were meteors.

I wished in all the universe,

Through distance and through time,

This was no random curse-

That your soul was meant for mine.

I need a low dose,

Of you believing,

In me.

I need a sheet cake,

Made of victory.

I know that I can’t go on like this.

I need this song to feel like something-

Like something I missed.

Tomorrow is another day for,

In this life of hiding knives,

Goodbye… serotonin.

Where all the words can be untangled.
