he feels the tightening of the noose

the rough feel of her rope on his skin

control invisible

voluntarily concealed

unknowingly ignored then forgotten

like a dog on a leash

answering her call

the train doors open

his heart stops

hollow and forlorn she stands

disappearing almost in the mass of grey

waiting to be through with all

I release the bonds holding you

and see you falling apart

night devours us

rain drowns us

losing control on slippery streets among late cars

the last travellers pass me by
