Marlboro Town

I'm optimistic where I'm headed But I'm grateful for where I've been I watch the changing seasons Blowing in the wind Arriving In the promise land With both feet on the ground I never thought that I could be set free From the walls of that Marlboro Town A calling is what kept me And a calling sent me on A greater purpose unveiling But I still wish I were their son Even though times are changing And from them I hear no sound I never thought that I could be set free From the walls of that Marlboro Town I hold on to all the good I've learned Everything else I let go I'm amazed at all the foolishness But when it's taught it's all you know I thank Jesus everyday For this truth that I've found I never thought that I could be set free From the walls of Marlboro Town I never thought that I could be set free From the walls of that dead end town
