Bear witness to the years when I lost track of who I was

Did you enjoy the view?

Reminiscing with your friends on the days before I fell

When I sat down and broke bread with the worst parts of myself

Well I heard a bit from that side of the fence

And I start to think that somehow it’s all true

It’s such a relief that you found someone

Who would pretend the same way you pretend

Call it respecting differences

A wicker basket weaved of all that drove us far apart

While nothing’s ever over

You said you’re back but I promised myself we, well we are not

And I would give this up right now if it meant

That I could just for once mean the things I say

It rattles through the spokes as I spin my wheels

You can have all this for free, you just gotta tow it away

Cause it piles high and I’ve lost my mind before

Still set aside symptoms not to ignore

So scatter my ashes where the last wave crashes

And I’ll leave you nothing more
