It doesn't have to be so hard

Take a big breath and let the words out slow

It doesn't have to go so far

You're standing on the edge

You can turn around slow

It shouldn't have to take so long

It only takes a minute and a minute is gone

You shouldn't have to wonder why

Cause every time you wonder

Your life is passing by

Do you ever see your future

Don't you know it's right before your eyes

Don't you ever look behind you

Today is the first day of the rest of your life

You never seem to work it out

There got to be a way to make it come about

And even when your set to fly

A thought gets in your way

Don't make it stop you try

Do you ever see your future

Don't you know it's right before your eyes

Don't you ever look behind you

Today is the first day of the rest of your life
