The Adolescent Perspective

It's six eleven and we on the block Rollin deep six or seven, don't know where to stop We take a left on south seventh, and we see a cop Sitting at the stop, I hold my breath and pray we don't get caught Stu is packing, got the gas and I don't mean the pump We take a right on south eleventh just to see what's up If there's a function going on, we gon' fuck shit up But instead, we pull into a lot under the light that's bust Yeah I don't like the way I feel when I get high though Smoke the windows out, checking mirrors, see my eyes low I'm paranoid Stressing everywhere my eyes go Psyching out myself, fuck this shit, let's just ride home It's seven now, and the sun comes up at eight I can hear my stomach rumble; I realize I haven't ate We walk down to the VP on the corner, on the way We see a house, the door is open, no one's home, but just wait The same cop is at the counter when we walk into the store I keep my hood up, while my eyes stay on the floor Grabbing what I'll eat, take my time till he leaves Heart is racing, boy I'm sweating, buy my shit, keep the receipt Now Let me tell you where this leads Uh We walking back high as fuck, eating good See the house we seen, door still open, think we should, so we do Walk into the house, lights are out, shine my phone Looking through the halls, sweating bullets, can't reload I'm paranoid, thinking I might see a ghost Or a dead body, or a dog without its bone Damn Gun shots out the window, down the road At this point I'm asking God, if it's time, let me know We ducking out the window, cut through allies in the cold Make it back before the suns up, then we hit the studio Now This my life in a day type shit The art of peer pressure, when I used to be a kid Just a few stories, and a glimpse of how I lived When I wasn't back home, I was stupid with my friends But ain't nothing I regret, in fact I'd do that shit again My perspective as a kid was to do what makes me rich Eight years later, let 'em know we fuckin did it Yeah
