I posted in the back of the world just waiting

For my chance to live the dream again

I feared that all the footprints we left were fading

With the rest of the globe's

I'd dwell on all the darkness that lay out before me

An abyss that we had never known

We'd landed on Mars, but we'd learn how to breathe again

Without the oxygen we used to hold

I got used to how the river flowed

I got stuck in my ways

I got used to how the river flowed

But now the current knows its place

I wallowed in the pain of my own situation

Knowing full well it could be worse than this

Allowing for the waves of inspired creation

To balance the fear of the well running dry

My suffering is one little drop in the bucket

When I look around and see the world

I only have one shot, so I'm gonna love it

No matter how it unfurls
