Mr. X

I think that I’ve been taken

I feel my mind is breakin’             

There’s something deep inside that don’t feel right

There ain’t no doubt about it 

I’d rather do without it

Can’t seem to shake it even if I try

Maybe a doctor could do

Some of that doctor voodoo

Go deep inside my head and shake things out

It’s like there’s somethin’ eerie 

Making my mind so weary

I need to find out what it’s all about

It seems to come and go but always makes me worry ‘bout my life

You can say I’m crazy ‘cuz I think you might be right

I’m trying to ease it down without a landing strip in sight

It’s so complex

It must be Mr. X

It comes on like a demon

Makes me wish I was dreamin’

It only wants to bring me to my knees

I feel my body shakin’   

My inner child is achin’ 

I’m spending too much time with too much of me

I could call 911 but these are things they do not want to hear

Need to dig in deeper, try to make it disappear

I gotta shut this out, don’t wanna live my life in fear

It’s like a hex

It must me Mr. X

Can’t focus ‘cuz I’m hazy  

I wish my brain was lazy

I need to take the time and get some rest

I hate this agitation 

It blocks my motivation

Don’t recognize myself, I’m not my best

It tries to tear my ego up and says that I’m no good at all

Tells me I’m not worthy and I’m surely bound to fall 

Can’t take it too much longer, I’m about to hit the wall

I’m so perplexed

I think it’s Mr. X

What is this big intrusion?   

That makes me feel I’m losin’

‘Cuz every move I make is filled with doubt

Can’t even see it comin’

Out of the blue I’m runnin’

Until I’m so shook up it makes me shout

Need to confront this hater                  

This evil perpetrator                                        

Tell him I know when he is hanging around

I’ll look into his dark eyes

And let him know that I’m wise

To all his tricks that try to break me down
