The Start of Spring

Spent so long coloring inside

the lines of winter's wanting

Forgot there had to be an end

But I heard my gut when it said

You've done all that you can

It is what it is

You should be proud of it

What a way to start the spring

What a way to feel

Oh to finally grow again

Now I sit by the window

Watching the colors swirling

Didn't have to move at all

So I raise my glass to the wind

For doing what it is

Graceful as it bends

Carrying life in it
