I don't want the cherries at the bottom of the tree

I want the ones just out of my reach

The ones that sit the closest to the heat of the sun

that ain’t available to everyone

I wanna have to work for the fruit I get

I kinda like to struggle just a little bit

Don't want the rotten ones, hell no

I only want the ripe ones they're more my

type I’m picky yes I know

My standards get high, as I grow old

These cherries getting harder and harder to reach

and I ain’t getting any taller

And that’s why I’m lonely

Terrified

Paralyzed

I want the cherry on top

The problem is I’m scared of the big long fall

the ground at the bottom isn't comfy at all

The branches tend to brake when you get that high

and injuries can hurt till the day you die

And I’m just not sure I can compromise

don't think that I can be as satisfied

No I want the very best things in life

and I just can't help it

And even if I get the ones I’m reaching for

I don't know if I’ll want them as much any more

because I have achieved I need to move on

and I ain’t getting any taller
