Clear Water

Runnin on the river clearing my head

Thinking about the things my momma said

She told me to be kind, told me to be true

Told me all the things a momma should do

Wish that I had listened, wish I had stayed

Wish that I was sitting on the farm where I was raised

The dirt is so much cleaner than the words that people say

I just turn to the river to learn about the waves

Cool water clear my head

Something inside me felt the call

I had to go find out for myself

What could I do? Where do I stand? Can I make my way every single day?

Can I make my life the way I want it to be?

Feels good to be the person I was meant to be

Got a foot in both worlds trying to keep it real

I’m the only one who knows how I feel

But I’m glad to be here making my way
