Coming of Age

Another gloomy Monday shows its face

And the Insta Pot coffee's lost its taste

And the six o'clock train's always running late

But if I stop now I know I'm never gonna make it

Back to the tragedy, laugh like a comedy

Rogaine society, dial-up lobotomy

Nine to five, fantasize about the end of the day

Just to wake up and do it all again

I should have known better than to think that this could change

I should have seen the pattern, how disconnected I became

Climbing that corporate ladder, if you need somebody to take the blame

You can call me a quitter, but I'm calling it a coming of age

Back to the rat race, run in place

I just spin my wheel till my my next lunch break

I don't know which is worse, the commute or the hearse
