It's difficult to swallow

More than you can chew

The day is strangely hollow

When filled with things to do

I'm tired of being tossed on angry seas that I have stirred

I'm a terrier that's lost whose brittle bark is barely heard

I'm slowly losing grip and slipping off of every word

That's said.

Filling up the spaces

Like marbles in a sock

Quickly changing faces

As meetings chase clock

I'm tired of being tired I'm not as fine as I may claim

Going through the motions and real life are not the same

Always looking outward when I should accept the blame

Instead

I'm trying hard to catch a breath

And tripping over what I've strewn upon my path

 

Pouring over pieces

Of the puzzle of this day

I could force them together

But I'll toss them all away.

I'm cleaning up the clutter, clearing up my mind

Souvenirs I've never missed now suddenly I find

I'm no longer feeling guilty about leaving guilt behind
