It was a dream

Where every question resolved perfectly

But it slipped away

Down through the hole

Compost in fertile soil

Burrow in the unknown

Far from the sun

Far from the day

My hollow friend

Salty and sage

No need to smile

No need to behave

Come as you are

You're free in your ways

I'm off to spiral in

Tunnel horizon

To plant a seed

An egg to lay

So I grab handfuls

Journey to the mantle

A god with an antler

No father, no mother

I couldn't be happier

To be tumbling down

Make my sweet silence peace with the ground

With the weeds and the seeds

Got me down on my knees

Growing roots from my toes

Guess I always knew I was one of those

Freaky people who yearn to return to the soil

Moon be my guide

Worms be my prey

A musty realm

Where secrets play

No need to smile

No need to behave

Come as you are

You're free in your ways

Arrive at the door

I feel I've been here before

I had a key

But it slipped away
