He went to find Jesus as he walked up to the church

There in his pocket, a bottle of Jack

Walked right up to that steeple and dropped it in the can

And never took the time to look back

His body is worn and his blood has a proof

You've got it all to gain when you've got nothing to lose

A sinner has a future, a saint has a past

Nobody's got it all figured out so give it a rest

If you believe in luck you sell yourself short

Cause you can't see how you're blessed

A sinner has a future and a saint has a past

You'd never know it if you met her now

But she's had a rough and lonely ride

She let the past go along with the things she's done

The day she decided to let the Lord lead her life

Now, she's filled with a joy no one can take away

Cause by the grace of God she's been saved

A sinner has a future, a saint has a past

Nobody's got it all figured out so give it a rest

If you believe in luck you sell yourself short

Cause you can't see how you're blessed

A sinner has a future and a saint has a past

A sinner has a future, a saint has a past

Nobody's got it all figured out so give it a rest

If you believe in luck you sell yourself short

Cause you can't see how you're blessed

A sinner has a future and a saint has a past
