Older Than I Was Last Year

I blinked on Christmas Eve

Then it was June suddenly

Been trying not to live in fear

But it's so hard when I am older than I was last year

Every sunset paints the sky

With all the colors of days gone by

And I don't want to look in a mirror

'Cause it shows me I'm older than I was last year

Missing pages, losing time

Forgot to save my place in line

Never mind my party trick

Can't quite get the landing to stick

I'll mess around and make a scene

Find a way to find some meaning

Maybe time will disappear

And I'll forget that I am older than I was last year

I've had loved ones come and go

I miss them more than they'll ever know

But as hindsight gets real clear

 I see the blessing in being older than I was

I'm still the girl I was

Just got a bit more love

Than last year
