Descending

Sometimes I sit and wonder

If I died to be by your side

Would it be a life taken with pride

Forgetting what we left behind

To live beneath the dirt

Holding hands beneath the sky

But now you're gone

A living shadow in my mind

Watching the days fade to gray

With nothing left to replace the pain

Pins and needles as the clock hands bend

Questioning where all the time went

Holding on to words I should've said

Hoping one day we'll meet again

Descending slowly

Towards your resting place
