Under Trees

Under trees is where I lay

The damp of the Earth brings me to wake

Their heights climb, up to the moon

While I can't seem to move

Once I lived in one mind

But that was over when my disorder

Brought me into two lives

The one there, the other not far

I sleepwalk through the wardrobe

To where the snow falls

Two feet outside my room

Disappear behind the winter coats

To where the creatures roam

Foolproof to the cold

Swear I've seen my mother's face

Felt my father's embrace

They're on the outside looking in

I must seem stranger ever since
