Spoke to your ghost last night as I laid awake in bed

Asked about the afterlife or what comes after death

Are there angelic voices is there blinding light

And do you feel the pain of passing to the other side

And I feel the weight

I feel the weight of your silence

You just stared through me

Like I wasn't even there

Spoke to your ghost last night told you what's become of me

Do you feel unsatisfied with the life you had to leave?

I never saw the righteous path as one I could abide

And never had the stomach for what others do to survive

Sometimes the hardest thing

For me to bear is the silence

When there's no words to speak

And you're not there to hear

And if you speak to god can you ask him where he's been

And why should we see our faults as failures unto him

Should he answer for the things that faith in him inspires

And shouldn't he ask our forgiveness if we're flawed by design
