Long Awaited Winter

The long awaited winter

Weather brings me water for my yield

The earth between my fingers

Herding beasts and bodies in the fields

In a flash our life is waning

Weather brought destruction to my will

Lost my sustenance and with it

All the cries from people sounded shrill

The sun warms up the mountain

The snow caps dissipate

Brings the water through the valley

Filling every field pulled down from weight

You don’t have to live like you’ve been torn apart

Like the hours after washing dreams end but life restarts

Another seasons with me

Hopeful that the storms there for my thirst

So far the sun is blazing

Feeling the land crumble, feeling cursed

The days go with no moisture

Worried as the sun scorches the earth

Of my fruits and of my labour

What's this futile life really worth?

The wrath of nature

Presents the prospect of a choice

Accept the strike of an arrow

Seasons change and weather turns

You don’t have to live like you’ve been torn apart

Like the hours after washing dreams end but life restarts

Thank the Lord who fertilized the land
