The Tower

Did you see the movie

'Bout the girl so obsessed over proving herself

She loses herself

That's how I felt

Tearing into me

Like a sword through the heart

Took the card I was dealt

It didn't end well

My tower's never ending

Holding my breath but it keeps getting higher

Sad like a habit

Through the static, I couldn't get through to myself

Diluted myself

That's how I fell

I lost my magic and pursued unattached and untrue to myself

Uprooted myself

That's how I felt

And my tower, I'll defend it

Crumbling to the ground

I'm losing my grip and I'm tumbling down

If I recover, rewind that summer

Leave with at least half the mind I had then

I traded for comfort, passion and wonder

A backyard and maybe a couple of friends

The memories stayed like a scar on my brain

I was chasing a star and I fell

It was good 'til it wasn't and all of a sudden

My wonderland turned into hell

It was just like the part in the movie where the mirror starts moving without me

In the glare, caught a glimpse of myself and I knew that I fell
