We shed our consciousness like a snake sheds its skin

We live to dream and only awake as slaves to a machine

That preys on the air we breathe

Every gasp of air, every pump of blood through our heart

Is gifted to the cold steel

The streets are empty. And the lights of our cities, stolen

We are in stasis

He sound of hell, is the silence they delivered. We must, awaken

Drown in deception

Currency of delusion

What we'll never know, fabrication of control

Hollow souls, brittle bones, stained mattress, empty homes

The world asleep, dancing with the dead, in their dreams

Removed beyond recognizance

The rats gnaw lifeless fingers

Breathing but not alive

Death machine

Obsession

Don't count on a heaven
