i found out that i don't wanna go

i used to think i was just passing through

but i put my money down on a young horse

and i'm gonna watch him grow

i had a feeling i was concealing

out on a limb burning the candle

looking down the barrel of an uphill fight of a long night

and like a cold wind coming in off of the water

i never thought of it as something worth the worry

my brother was the same and now we talk of it

but we've lost enough people now to recognize we don't value our own lives

he almost died this year, scared us proper

his body screaming out to stop it

but he wants to stay here so he pulled himself up and got to the hospital

and like a leopard closing in on the slaughter

i used to plan my exit, once i met expectations

and then i got real sick, i got faced with it

and i don't wanna go, i'm happy here and i'll fight for it

so i've been building things now, laying foundations down

my baby deserves to know that i'm not gonna go
