I\'ve been taking my time

 

I\'ve been trying to find peace.

I\'ve been trying to make a better me.

They said I\'d never make it,

looking at their faces.

They don\'t even recognize me.

And you say I don\'t deserve it,

but I knew my purpose.

Don\'t let them get the best of me.

So what they gonna say now?

Wishing that they stay down,

I\'m who I wanna be.

You\'re looking at a brand new person.

And everybody coming to the light.

Reminder to myself it\'s worth it.

You don\'t know how much I sacrifice.

Was so afraid when they ask,

What you doing now.

Ashamed because I had nothing to show them.

So hard, there\'s only one way to live this life.

I do my best but it\'s still just not enough.

don\'t know what they see.

I shouldn\'t care so much,
