I had to learn the hard way

So many pains in my chest

Lately I have been observing life

How day stays like a sec, and night stays longer

They thought i didn't know what I was doing

But I looked at them and laughed on my mind

They never believed in the grind that I have been putting in

Because I was always around

They never believed all the hard work was gonna pay off someday

Now, everything seems different

My old friends doing the fake checking, asking me how am I doing

Man, you know I have been fine and grateful ever since God created me

Just facing the hard times in life

Wouldn't change my mindset of not to keep being grateful to God

Because I know he has always been good to me, ayy

I thank God that where I'm today is not where I was yesterday

Because they never rated me

Family wants the best for me

But people outside doesn't wanna see me shine

Because they were treated bad

So, they try to put the same energy on me

I guess, it all goes like a circle

But I ain't letting myself go inside that circle

That's why I always keep my distance and my circle small

Things have changed now

If I'm going back home

They wanna know how much progress I have made in life

No one wants the best for anyone

That's the selfish world we live in

Everyone wanna be the king

But no one wanna go through the process

You win, they start hating

All they love is greed

And looking for ways to take what belongs to you

I forgive myself for all I have done

Even though I may still go back to the same way

But I know I'm not built like that

So, I will always be who God created me to be no matter what I face

Friends of today ain't friends

Next minute, they turns to enemies

That's the reason I got no friends

Guys been backing people

That will never care about them in the next minute

Ignoring your real one that has always been there for you

But I guess, familiarity is not a good thing

That's why I always keep my distance

They thought they were doing me wrong, uhh

They didn't know they were making me strong

Nowadays, I cut people off

That I thought were my friends like they're nothing, ayy

Inside is cold, outside is cold

I don't know where to stay

I feel everyone is just on me

But as a thug, I will never quit fighting for my peace

Used to be an extrovert

Now, I'm growing up

I found myself as an introvert

Because I have experienced so much in life

Life change, people change

We were kids then and didn't know what our tomorrow was gonna be

Now we are getting older

Life is changing
